There are many illegal gates in Poipet that traffickers use in the night to transport people across the border with Thailand by corrupting police.
Usually children set to begging or prostitution but also fisherman and other workers.When the Thai police catch them without documents they are sent back to Cambodia where NGO usually take care of them in shelters or refugees for rehabilitation.
